Ability to change the primary column at a later date

It would be convenient if you could change the primary column at any time. I have an existing sheet and would like to switch the primary column to a different text/number column. I know there are workarounds to get the end result, but it would be super slick if you could just change it by editing the column properties.

I agree - my issue is that I built my smartsheet modeling it after one with a blank primary column (so I left my smartsheet blank). Now I realize I want to use some of the primary column functionality, but my sheet is almost all formulas and references to other cells - if I copy my data from one column into the primary column, it will break a lot of my formulas.

Please make an easy way to change the primary column to a different "text/number" column.

Manually changing all formulas/reports/etc is possible yes, but it is way too cumbersome. It seems like it would be fairly simple to code this?
