During November, we had a great conversation about AI, and how it's helping you to work smarter, not harder. We loved reading how you use it with your formulas, to analyze data, onboard new users, or even as a trainer to improve your skills faster. We also received excellent video responses, and you’ll see a selection of them very soon!

Now, it’s time for your last question of 2024. Let’s earn badges and points while getting to know your peers, shall we?

If you could become an instant expert in one topic, what would it be?

A new year is approaching, and the sky is the limit with this one. Let us know which topics you would love to know a lot about, and maybe even get inspired to start making that dream come true in 2025. 😁

Share your response in the comments section below. ⬇️

About Question of the Month:

We kick off each month with a new question. These monthly ice breakers are just one way to help you get to know your Smartsheet peers and rack up some badges and points in the process.

In addition to the participant badge, the top three answers based on Community member votes will receive the Top Answer badge. To vote on an answer click on the upvote icon associated with an answer in the comments below. Multiple votes allowed and encouraged!

    Great question!

If I could become an instant expert in one topic, it would be law. My dream job since I was a teenager is that of a lawyer. I would go ace the exams and start practicing law as soon as possible! I would love to have my own practice, and maybe my 2 sons could eventually work there and eventually take over. My oldest already shares the passion. My youngest would probably want in too.

I'd combine my personal passion of football (or soccer in North America ☺️) with all things data and become an expert in football coaching and analytics. The ability to understand player data and take the insights it offers to identify the best coaching strategies, tactics, and players would be an instant career pivot for me!

I would love to become an instant expert in football. I love my role as an armchair analyst, but would love to actually be able to learn the different defensive coverages, how to set-up an offense, and wish I had the mind of a QB. 🏈

If I could become an instant expert in one topic, it would be communication.

Communication is the foundation of many principles and it is the bridge that connects them.

I am going to say something a little different. I would like to be an expert at my hobby of sculpting. I have mostly made clay figures for family members(for holidays), I've even sculpted centerpieces for a wedding reception but, I would like to become an expert at it so that I am confident enough to start selling what I make.

What a great question and I am loving all of the answers and comments here so far. If I could become an instant expert in one topic, that topic would be programming and coding. I actually began studying this back in the days of Cobol and Fortran but then life got in the way of pursuing my dreams (not that I am complaining). But it would be great to be an instant expert in all of the newest, latest, and greatest programming and coding languages. That would be a great way to ultimately round out my career before retirement. 😀

If I was to become a SME on just one thing that would be hard, as I want to know about everything. One thing I have been wanting to learn in the business world is business architecture. Seeing the business from the lens of not just focused on IT and transforming requests into processable functions, but how to make the business better.
