creating mid-task lag?
In construction scheduling, we often have weather delays, lag when subs are working out of town, etc in which we need to create a delay mid-task. i.e., contractor A starts a task on 1/2, is delayed until 1/9 due to cold weather than picks back up and completes the task 7 days later than originally anticipated. Is there a workaround to build this in to my Gantt?

I would think this is where you could use Predecessors that would allow you to build-in lag time.

You cannot split a task in Smartsheet like you can in other PMS's.
The only way would be to break the task into two separate tasks (Part a, Part b) link with a dependency and add a lag.

Hi,
I am hoping to be able to split tasks with a lag in the middle while the task is on hold - just like the question above by House Plant. Does anyone know if Smartsheet made any updates since 2018 that will allow a task to be split in two without adding another row with the remainder of the task?
Thanks
