Add attachments to PDF from Document Generator
We have operations teams performing tasks where they also take pictures via the mobile app. Our sheet then automatically creates a PDF to share with the client. However, we have to download the pictures separately and attach them. This slows up the process significantly.
Either be able to attach the pictures directly or allow the form submitter to post a hyperlink to Box or OneDrive so we can provide that link in the PDF.

Wondering about the status since the last update is over a year old. I assumed exporting/printing would save my grouping information and summary but of course it didn't. Glad I checked before I sent it out.

All you need to know about Community Champions 💡 (Updated December 2025)
NOTE: Please see this page for the most up to date information on the Community Champions program and the Community Customer Journey overall. Hello all! Thought I’d pop in, especially for our new members, to talk a little about the Community Champions program. Fun fact: It was called Community Rockstars during its early days!
Before I get ahead of myself: My name is Alison if we haven’t connected yet, and I’m a part of the fabulous Community team here at Smartsheet. It’s my absolute privilege to not only connect with you on this platform, but I also manage our Community Customer Programs: Smartsheet Overachievers and of course, the Community Champions.
I wanted to answer some of the questions I get asked most frequently. Let’s crack into it!
Q) What is a Community Champion?
A) A Smartsheet Community Champion is a Community member who demonstrates product expertise and generosity in sharing best practices and support with others on the platform.
Q) How are Champions selected?
A) The Smartsheet Community team proactively selects Champions based on:
- Engagement criteria from platform activity over the last year
- How the member reflects Smartsheet values
- Featuring diverse perspectives in the group such as global region, industry, and much more
We also consider any relevant direct member feedback.
Q) How long are Champions in the program?
A) FOR-EV-ER! Just kidding, though participants are in the program as long as they want to be.
Q) How will I know if I’ve been selected?
A) You’ll get a very energetic email from yours truly extending the offer to join!
Q) What are some of the benefits of being a Champion?
A) To name just a few:
- Access to a private Community Group for networking and brainstorming with your peers
- Advocacy opportunities to help tell not only Smartsheet’s story, but your own story as well
- Exclusive feedback channels directly to our team and the Smartsheet product team
- Swag!
Q) I really want to be a Community Champion. What do I do?
A) As long as you’re active in the Community and connecting with others, you’re on your way! Some things to keep in mind:
- Make sure you’re answering other people’s posts as well as creating your own
- Reactions count
- Always lead with kindness and a We Before Me attitude
- Make sure your profile is sparkling with a wonderful profile picture and information on who you are

Update Reports using the API
I found an old thread in the community about this, so mayn users are looking for it a long time already.
I need to be able to update reports using the API, most importantly I want to add or change the source sheets of a report using the API.
In my current case I have multiple reports using the same sources and if a new source is added I need to add it manually to all my reports. If the API could do that, this would be awesome.

Just checking in to see if there have been any updates on this. The dashboard is not a solution when I am needing a summary report. I need to be able to print summary expense reports for my projects without having to create metric sheets that summarize the totals. This results in 2 different documents needing to be printed. I am really trying to get others to adopt Smartsheet for a lot of their excel processes, and this is still one that is a pain point.

I would greatly benefit from this!!! Our leadership likes printed paper to show investors, and often times I have to go to excel to print the ways I like the data. It is so frustrating to not have this basic functionality in Smartsheet.

Would be nice to be able to nest groups inside of other groups for easier access administration for large organizations.

Automations in sheets is awesome and the ability to use formulas and set an entire column formula has completely changed my world so a formula computes as new data gets entered. Simply awesome. I also particularly love using Data Shuttle and the ability to import right from the sheet now is top notch!

Control Center - Destination Sheet change dynamically in Copy/Move Row Automations
I have a sheet in my blueprint that I want to copy rows from to another sheet in the same blueprint. When Control Center spins up projects, I want to be able to have the destination sheet change dynamically so that it's going to the selected sheet within the new project toolkit and not my original blueprint.
