I agree we need multiple instances of the desktop version to open at one time or even a pop out option. I have been using the new desktop version since it's launch and I found that in the past when creating new processes for automation or creating new dashboards etc that I will have a couple of browser tabs open side by side to review two or more Smartsheets at a time, with the current desktop version that is not possible.
My current situation is having the desktop app open, turn off the Smartsheet extension and use a browser tab to view a second instances of Smartsheet.
The next evolution of Smartsheet is coming 🚀

I have experienced similar. On the web browser, I regularly have 10+ instances open at one time to different project sheets; I did a beta on the desktop app and eventually uninstalled it due to the limitations. Another issue I had is that there was no "memory" of all recently opened tabs, so every time I restarted, I was having to open all windows again, instead of the browser where I can easily pull them back up from hx.
