Why are my metric widgets breaking on a global update?

Hello,

I have updated my source dashboard for a global update. I only moved widgets around and renamed my source sheet where most of my metric widgets are pulling from. I then pushed a global update to dashboards and the most of the metric widgets that are pulling from the source sheet (only changed the name not the cell links) are broken. Any help would be appreciated, thank you!

@Spencer_j I have a quick follow up question. Is this just a view of the "Test" that you run in the global update, or is this after you actually completed the global update?

@Spencer_j gotcha. I honestly don't have an answer for you, just a guess that it's because of the name change. Have you tried changing the name back and running the global update again? The source sheet that the dashboard is referencing is in the toolkit right?

Yes, and yes. although the wording of the toolkit warning window when it finds new sheets and can't find other sheets says something like, "a new sheet has been found in your source folder would you like to add it?". i'm wondering if this creates new connections and so the old connections in current folders are outdated or not considered when a global update is pushed.

@Spencer_j that's a really good point, when you change a sheet name, you have to update the blueprint again to capture the "New Sheet" even though it is the same sheet.

Have you have done that?

yes, I clicked into the blueprint and saw those warning windows, the changes looked good and i pressed on through the following windoes to save the template.

And in your toolkit the dashboard you have works as expected? It's just when you do the global update that it fails?

Right, The dashboard in my tookit works, but the global update failed. I manually resolved the issue for now, but i'll run some tests and update this thread when I find something. Thank you for the help Samuel!
