In Resource Management, the new Capacity view shows "Total capacity" and "Scheduled" hours. The scheduled field correctly shows the number of hours assigned to projects. However, the total capacity field includes the total hours of real staff PLUS placeholders. Because we use placeholders in projects to indicate needs that are not yet assigned to real staff, the overall Capacity view is skewed to indicate that we have more capacity than we truly do. For example in the image below, we should see a total capacity of 552 hours (3 full time staff at 184 hours in the month of May) instead of the additional 184 hours from project placeholders.
We recommend that placeholders be excluded from total capacity or at least have the option to be excluded.
