Identify tentative assignments in export of underlying data for Resource Management

In Resource Management, there is the ability to indicate a Status on an Assignment. There are different Stages (Planned, In Progress, Done) and you can define specific Status within each Stage. But other than using this to visually see the status of an assignment, it doesn't appear to be used anywhere else - i.e. you can't filter on it in the schedule or reporting views. Within reporting, you can also export the underlying data and there is a column called Assignment Status, but it doesn't seem to reflect the Status described above. I'm specifically looking for a way to identify a Planned assignment that is locked in vs. a Planned assignment that is tentative/pending.
