I would like to be able to change column types without having to delete conditional formatting rules. Currently I have 20 columns that I want to change from Text/Number to Dropdown List. They each have 5 Conditional Formatting rules applied to them. I can't change the column types without deleting the rules first. I can then change the column types, but then have to re-add the Conditional Formatting rules back in.
There are a couple ways this can be solved.
1.) Allow column type changes when Conditional Formatting rules are disabled.
2.) Allow column type changes even when Conditional Formatting rules are present, whether they are enabled or disabled.
Thanks for submitting this!
Another part of this feature would be to allow columns to be deleted when conditional formatting exists. The column should automatically be removed from the conditional formatting rule.

I just ran into this issue. What was going to take no more than five minutes is now going to be a several hours long task.
