Upload Thousands of Excel Documents to Rows


I have been building a workspace for inspection tracking. Before this we were utilizing an Excel doc that would use a macro to create a new Excel doc for each inspection with the information that was entered. There are 2332 excel documents. The information in each doc are not in individual columns. The filenames are Asset# 2 digit month - 2 digit year ( Z011755 08-19).

I have 2 questions. Is there away to upload all the Excel docs and have them attach themselves to a row where the primary column is the Asset#? Is there a way to have Smartsheet read the cells in the Excel doc and have the information populate certain columns? I have Data Mesh, Data Shuttle, Dynamic View, Pivot, Calendar and Work Apps.
