Approval requests dashboard

Please bring back, or improve upon, the previous approval requests dashboard. It used to be that the "home" button showed me approval requests and mentions. Now it just shows me a list of my sheets, which I access from the "recent" or "workspace" icons anyway.
The notifications feature isn't very clean and is too narrow, causing me to have to scroll to see what's in my queue. It isn't easy to see which requests are due when (this info IS listed in the approval request but isn't easy to see between all items in the notifications column/bar.
Thanks for your consideration! This would be VERY helpful to me and others on my team.
