New! TIME function for formulas
Hey Community,
Some of you may have noticed a new function in our Functions List last week…
Introducing the TIME Function!
This returns the time of day in 12- or 24-hour format from a given set of values.
Syntax
TIME(time_value, [ format ], [ precision ])
- time_value — The value to create time with. Must be provided as a string or numbers representing hours, minutes, and seconds.
- format —[optional] Specifies whether the time is displayed using a 12-hour (0) or 24-hour (1) clock.
- precision —[optional] Requires format to be set first. Specifies the interval of time to return in either hh (1), hh:mm (2), or hh:mm:ss (3).
Example
Please see the function article for more detail and examples of how to use it effectively, and feel free to post your own solutions using TIME() in the comments below.
Cheers,
Genevieve

This was very much needed and looking forward to being able to produce some more accurate time studies and time KPIs from the new functionality!

@Genevieve P. I actually noticed this in the function list and thought it was funny that I had never noticed it before. Now I know why :D !
I'm excited, and you probably figured a video was coming about this... and I don't want to disappoint!

Help, =TIME(RIGHT({carrier worksheet Range 1}, 4)) this is my formula but it is not pulling the right data.
this is the source sheet I am pulling from but when I used that formula this is what comes back
-
I don't think you need to use the right portion of your formula if your just pulling the date and time from a custom text field. What kind of fields are in you reference data? It looks like a simple time input in a text column... not part of a system date/time.

I created the TIME Function sheet (shown on the 9/27/23 thread above and attached). However, I saw there is a CIRCULAR REFERENCE for the column listed "Time difference - Hours and Minutes". Is there any solution to this? I believe it was a really good start for keeping track of time. There are some things I may need to tweak, but this will get me started. Or is there an "easier" way to track time with all the columns and rows mentioned in this video? I considered doing helper rows for Monday through Friday.
Help :)
