Being able to select multiple rows with Ctrl + shift feature (as in excel)

I know there's the ability to hit ctrl+shift+up/down arrow for this, however it selects all either above or below. If one wants to highlight say, 10 rows (say for update requests) then being able to use ctrl + shift and then selecting where you want to highlight to would be great.
