Expanding the Chart Widget's Formatting Options

It would be helpful if users could incorporate patterns into a chart. For example, a bar graph could have a bar that is blue with white diagonal stripes.

How is this helpful? My company's style guidelines only allow five colors. However, it does allow incorporating a pattern into a chart, which makes it possible to have more than five categories. Perhaps my company is the only one with such a restriction, but I suspect it's not.
