New user access is global not granular
I have a workspace with multiple Project folders in it. When I grant access to a sub-folder (single project) it actually grants them access to the entire Workspace. I need to be able to restrict with more granularity in folders and sub-folders.
New to SS and learning as I go.

There is currently no way to share at the folder level. It is only at the workspace level or the individual item level.

Check the symbol next to the person's name when adjusting the sharing permissions. There are different icons for workspace vs item.

That does not seem to be the solution. using Smartsheet Enterprise.
If I grant Viewer access at the top level of Workspace then drill in to a Project Plan Sheet. I check mark the Sheet, click Share, and change access to Editor....it changes the users entire access in the Workspace to Editor. I must be doing something wrong. Thoughts ?

That was it. On the Sheet, I opened Share. The user is shown as Viewer (Workspace icon) so I re-entered the user name at the top and selected Editor. At that point it changed the Sheet permissions.
When I deleted that Permission, the user reverted back to Viewer.
Not intuitive but you help got me thru it.
