Parent roll up function splitting the gaps in child dates

New user here on SS.

I am wanting to develop a sheet with a gantt chart for my teams leave. It would have categories of the team name and second level category of their names.

I was hoping when they add a row for planned leave, it will show in the parent of their name, followed by the parent of the team name. This is occurring however if one team member has a row for planned leave from 22/02/2024 to 01/03/2024 and another team member has a row for planned leave from 29/09/2024 - 31/11/2024, the parent roll ups have it covered from 22/02/2024 - 31/11/2024 continuously.

Is there a way to enable parent rows to leave the gaps between the dates?
