First email sent as update request does not appear in activity log or in comments box

Is there a way to show the first request and attachments sent as part of a thread- so it can be tracked from the start. Does not see to appear in either the comments box or the activity log...or am I missing something?

    Update Requests are tracked both in email, with email confirmations, and in the Update Requests window (click Update Requests at the bottom of your sheet). Activity Log won't track an update request was sent, but it will track changes made from an update request.

    Thanks for your comments on this- we want to be able to track the request from the initial "send request"  - otherwise it's difficult to know if the request was sent in the first place- and to see this directly from our sheet. I'm sure there is a way this can be done or added to the list of Smartsheet enhancements at some point.
