Critical path viewed when linked to a parent row

It would be nice to have the critical path show when linked to a parent row.

I have a parent row (e.g. Testing) where the children (e.g. test 1, test 2, test 3,...) are performed in parallel & have the same finish date, so I often link the successor task(s) to the one parent row vs. each individual test task rows (can be 15+ children). Sadly, the critical path stops at the successor task when the predecessor is a parent row. It would appreciated to use the parent row & avoid creating an additional/unnecessary task (e.g. All tests completed) row solely for this purpose of getting the critical path to work. Thanks.
