What dictates the order of columns in a Dynamic View
Hello,
I created a dynamic view from a report. The columns in the report are ordered in one way. In Dynamic View I used the View Display screen to drag the fields into another order. The details panel is displaying the fields in the order I determined in the View Display screen but the main screen is still organized in the same order as the report itself. Am I missing something? Why would the View Display not dictate the actual main view?
It wouldn't be an issue for me to also rearrange the order of the columns in the report however I am not able to move the primary column "Candidate Name" in the report.
Is this a glitch or this is the intended behavior?

It is in the View Display tab when building the Dynamic View. You can reorder the columns by moving them up and down.

Totally get what you're referring to but take a look at the screenshots below:
The report:
The column order L—>R:
- Candidate Name (primary)
- HR Contact
- Sheet Name (hidden in DV)
- Hiring Manager
- Team
- Grade Level (hidden in DV)
- Salary Range
- RADHR Approved
- Approved-Central
The View Display:
The Dynamic View:
The order matches the report and does not respect the order I specified in the View Display

Hmm… I've not had that problem before. What happens if you ungroup the report?

Hi @Paul Newcome,
Apologies for the delayed reply. I ungrouped the report but it didn't change the behavior. The View Display order isn't being respected. From the sound of your last reply it doesn't sound like this is the way the system is supposed to behave.

I would suggest reaching out to Support at this point.
