Automated reminder for an approval request

I have a process for requesting approval that requires approval from 5 different people. Once the first person approves, the request is forwarded to the next person. How can I set up automated reminders for each approver if the status remains "submitted" for more than 3 days?

Unfortunately at this time there isn't a built-in automated reminder function for update requests. My workaround is that I have recurring automations to send an email to the contact if their relevant column has any rows saying Pending. It's just an email telling them to look for the actual update request emails and handle them. You may like to upvote this product idea:

I would like the ability to automate reminders for pending Update Requests where the user has not yet responded. When the user submits the update request, the reminders would stop. Ideally it could be built into Automations to select pending update requests and send a reminder after X days or within X days of a due date, with the original update request link. Another option would be to have a resend option in the Update Request options dropdown. Thanks!

Hello! We are trying to create a workflow that would include resending the Approval request X # days after the original Approval Request was sent but not yet answered. We're aware of reminders and update requests, but it's crucial that the Approval button is in the "reminder", so that the executives don't have to go search for that original email request. We are not seeing this option in the workflow itself. Any ideas on how to achieve this?

Automated Reminder for Approval Request?

Hello,

Is there an easy way to send an automated reminder based on an approval request?  We automate approvals from some of our Smartsheets and would love for a reminder to be sent x days later if the approval status is still "Submitted".

I can't find where I can build a reminder based on the status change plus a number of days.  And I don't know of a formula to populate another date field that would pick up the status date.  The closest I can get is the system date of when the row was last changed, but that's subject to any change in the row.

Anyone using reminders this way?
