Timeline view shows tasks with duration as Milestone

I encountered an issue with the Timeline view.
Some of my tasks, that have a start, end-time and a duration > 0d show up as diamond symbols in my Timeline view.

What could be the reason for this and how could I fix this?

This typically happens when you have a date column before the "two" date columns that you want to use in the timeline, and the first date column is empty. Timeline view takes the first two dates columns in consideration while plotting the view. Ensure that the two date columns that you want to contribute towards the timeline view are the first ones in the sequence, and there isn't any column formatted as "date" before these columns.
