Data Shuttle - trigger from email to sheet
I have a sheet that I currently update using a CSV file that is emailed to me weekly. I set-up a Data Shuttle to run upon attachment that works great. But I'm trying to remove a step. Is there a way to email an attachment to a specific sheet that would then trigger the Data Shuttle so I don't have to manually upload each week? Or does anyone else have any other ideas? Thank you in advance!

You may be able to leverage the API. Typically I set up a quick form on a dashboard for my clients so that they can just upload that way instead of having to access the sheet directly. It is still similar in that you have to open up a SS item to attach, but I find the user interface is a bit cleaner.

Thanks, @Paul Newcome! I'm trying to prevent the need for an API as I don't have tech resources. The system where the data is coming from can automate sending the report via email, so now I want to automate receiving that email. The form is a good idea if there was a person sending the email because then I could just have them use the form.

If you use outlook as your email system and have access to OneDrive/PowerAutomate, then you can simply create an automation that will look for the email extract the attachment and save it to OneDrive. DataShuttle can pick it up from OneDrive.
If you don't have outlook, you can use free version of Zapier and do the same. Have a rule that forwards the email to Zapier and it can save the attachment to either Google Drive or OneDrive and then Data Shuttle can pick it up.

Thanks, @marc4. I'll checkout the Zapier option as I'm a google shop user.

@JLen Zapier is definitely a great option! I also have chatted with some folks recently who are using ChatGPT to generate scripts to plug into Apps Script to pull data from their external sources into Google Sheets, and then bring the data from the Google Sheet into Smartsheet with Data Shuttle. It is SUPER nifty and they say it's very quick and painless (if you have ChatGPT generating the scripts for you), so that might be something to consider! We should be doing an Engage session on it this year because I think it's such a great way of streamlining uploads into Smartsheet with Data Shuttle (and should also have a portion of the session dedicated to how to do it with Power Automate).
