I would like to have the ability to build a system that when the use enters an issue with a piece of equipment that it will appear on the main Dashboard. But here is where I am looking for a better way. I would like the user to be able to click on the link or do a search on the fly for the issue and have a form pop up so they can update it. I like the sheet format, but for the techs in the field I dont want them bogged down with searching through sheets, I want them to just click and a form opens. Right now I can create a task that will pop up every day with a request for an update, but I would rather they just looked on their own for the issue and just filled in the form to update more of the ticket.
I hope this makes sense what im looking for

This sounds like a great use case for Dynamic View.
Otherwise, if you give them a report, they can use the "Edit Row" feature in the row menu to get a more "form like" layout for updating.
