@ReubenHollifield in working through the automation, I noted that we do have some times when we set %Allocation to 100 %. There is no specific pattern that we can use to identify when a resource may be set to 100% Allocation and when they would not. So this automation will not work for us, but it was a great idea. thanks.
@Cathy Salscheider Yes, that's a good point. For our purposes, it's very rare that we have any task/row that requires 100% allocation, so I think this workaround will work for us. You could also set someone as 0.9999 allocation rather than 1.0, which would not get cleared by the automation rule, but still almost 100% for reporting purposes.
This issue is definitely causing some headaches for us! Hope they make a change soon to remove it or allow us to turn it off. :)
All- I worked with SS / Resource Management Program Manager. We discusssed the impact of this new functionality in detail and I did request they develop a means to disable it. As a workaround, we created this automation. It sets % Allocation to 0%, but that is better than 100%. I had tried clearing the data in the % Allocation cell, but that type of automation does not work.
I noticed that this automation seems to take about 5 minutes to kickoff. Not sure if this is a bigger automation issue or just this one, but I am leaning toward just this one. Anyone else trying this?
