Is there a way to turn off the auto-open for the workspace panel?

Thank you for rolling back. How quickly will this happen today would be perfect 10/3/24? It is very difficult in executive meetings to have this open up automatically each time. Thank you

Hi @Amackay
I don't have a specific timeline for adjustments - please post any more feedback in the Private EAP Group so it can be surfaced to the relevant team!
Thanks,

The Workspace Panel opening each time a sheet is accessed was a feature enabled
only
for members of
the
Early Adopter's Program
(
EAP
).
This is going to be rolled back
soon for this group, thank you for your feedback. For any additional comments, please post in the private EAP Group.
-This is false, this is happening for members on my team that are not part of EAP- I do hope the rollback will apply to all users. I will comment this on the linked post also

Yes, my users, who are not part of EAP, are seeing this as well. I've been fielding complaints for days now. So glad to hear that it will be rolled back!

Having the same issue as noted above without being part of an "Early Adopter's Program".
A radio button in the settings to disable or just turn it off.

Genevieve - EAP team is telling me that Product Development did this. Lots of confusion within Smartsheets.

Hi all,
The Workspace Panel has been updated and it should no longer open automatically on every instance.

I do not believe I am in the EAP, and cannot find anything in my emails to show that I am - yet this has been happening to me all week, and it happens upon opening any new asset, regardless of having closed it on open assets. VERY IRRITATING.
-
Workspace panel keeps popping up, even on pages where it was closed before. Logic as described by @Genevieve P. does not work for me. Please fix quickly as it is very annoying.
-
We are still having this issue at our company. The panel is still opening for every sheet, report, etc, even when refreshing the same sheet. We are not part of the EAP Program.
-
@Genevieve P. is there a setting we need to turn off to prevent the panel from auto-opening? It's still happening on my side.
-
The Workspace pane is still giving us fits here. Everyone is getting very annoyed with it at this point. Did the roll back happen yet? If it did it hasn't fixed anything.
-
The auto-open feature of the workspace panel started in the past day or so for me. This is a major confidentiality problem because it lists all our clients and projects in the workspace panel when we open a sheet to review with a customer. Please fix this as soon as possible.

Hi everyone,
Thanks for reaching out. After the rollback, we did receive reports from some users still experiencing this issue. We've re-escalated it, and our engineering team is actively working on a fix. While we don’t have a specific ETA just yet, I’ll keep you posted once a full resolution is in place.
We really appreciate your patience and feedback!

Hi everyone,
I wanted to follow up and let you know that the issue with the workspace panel defaulting to open has been confirmed as resolved. You should no longer see the panel popping up each time.
Thank you again for your patience and feedback!
