Give Option to Open Side Panel

My team noticed in a recent update that a side panel automatically opens up any time a smartsheet item is opened from a shared workspace. Can we have the option to turn this feature off so that we don't have to click the "x" every time to get rid of it? I've attached a photo of the side panel that I'm referring to.

Having this workspace panel open automatically is an excessively annoying feature. I open dozens if not hundreds of sheets each day and this panel interrupts my workflow. I don't need it extending into and consuming my screen space. I close it every time it opens. Please disable this at the earliest opportunity.

Please disable this unhelpful feature as it impacts productivity by having to click to close and takes up our precious screen real estate.
