Automation to record a date isn't working

I'm hoping someone can help. I've used Smartsheet for years (at another company) and have never ran across this. I'm trying to record a date when the status changes to "1st Review". I have even gone so far as to create test columns where there is nothing, no formulas, conditional formatting, etc. attached, toggled Date only off and on, and created a new sheet with just three fields (primary, status, date), it still doesn't record the date.

Any suggestions?

Hi @SSullivan,

Have you tried the "Run Now" option or only tested by changing the values of the cell? If so, does anything happen?

Run now worked for my test doc, but not for the main doc, even with new columns.

The main doc is a project. Could that be why the automation isn't working?

I'm not sure what you mean when you say "The main doc is a project".

You will not be able to change the values in a date column being used by dependency settings.

Thank you all for the suggestions. I couldn't find the problem, so I just recreated it and everything is working in the new doc.
