Formula Question - Integration Project Management Tracker
Hello,
I am a project manager in the acquisition space and am creating a project tracker in SmartSheet. One column contains the days +/- from the close date that a task needs to start and another column that contains the days +/- from the close date that a task needs to end.
How can I create a formula that will take the close date (I can create a column for this too) and create dates based on the +/- days from close columns? Is this possible? Trying to avoid manually entering the dates (100's of tasks) each time a close date is set for a particular project.
Thanks in advance for anyone that can assist with this one.

Are you looking for a Gantt schedule perhaps?
If you are doing what my company calls a "T-Minus" schedule, what I'd suggest is to make a Summary Field with a simple formula of =[End Date]100 (where 100 is the close date row). Now in all your formulas you can use the formula below to calculate days from the close date.
=[Summary Field]# - [days +/- from close date]@row

Thank you! Very helpful. Quick follow-up —> is the "End Date" in the Summary Field column the actual close date. For some reason, when I try to plug the Summary Field into the other formula it doesn't want to work. I definitely think I'm missing a step or doing something wrong. :/ Thoughts?
