Dashboard not showing report totals in chart widget?

Hello

I have a simple report pulling data from a sheet. Basic project status (scoping, inflight, blocked etc) that report has a total at the top.

When i create a chart in my dashboard it shows all the totals of each status but not the total of all the projects. Total projects for our team.

Dashboard shows each project line but not the total # even though it shows it on the report.

Hi @Morris R,

To get the results you want, you'll need to create a metric sheet (separate sheet from the main sheet that does calculations to display on the dashboard. In this case, you'd list each status and total in one column, and do cross sheet countif formulas in another column. Then use that for the chart.

Or embed your current report into the dashboard and collapse the groups. It's not a chart but it will show your total at the top.

It does thanks - that is actually how i have been doing it. However managing multiple sheets and updating information has caused accuracy issues.

Such a simple need i just dont know why this was never part of the widget in the first place (i have submitted to intake previously to include - but nothing new comes from those requests)
