Icons Links in Dashboard

Please tell me how to add pdf, excel and word icons with the in the dashboard.

An icon is basically a specialized image file. So you can use an Image widget on your dashboard, and upload the PDF, Word, or Excel icon as the image in question. (You might need to update your image file to a file type supported by Smartsheet.) Once you upload the file to the Image widget, you can modify Widget Behavior to open another site, and link to the file.

The biggest limitation to consider is that you must link to a URL; server site links aren't supported. You will need to stage the files you want to link to using a file-sharing service like OneDrive, DropBox, or any number of other options in order to generate unique URLs.

@Kerry St. Thomas I have used the Widget "shortcuts and layout," which does not allow me to add any picture with the link icon. The link is to an Excel document picked from Dropbox.
I want to create a document something like this:
