How to track time off in Resource Management

I am trying to add our time off sheet to resource management. I went ahead and told resource management to add it as a project and changed the assigned resource column to employee email in the settings. However, I don't understand how to get to allocation to work with this? Once I set it up with RM, the allocation column came up, but it doesn't fill out automatically. Do you have to manually enter this? Does it go along with the full or partial hours/days? Or if I have even gone about this right. I just started using RM, and will take all of the tips you guys have to offer!

    Hi @Alicia D , I can help with this I think.

If time off is always for a full day, you can just put "=1" in the Allocation column and set it to a column formula.

In your screenshot, it looks like partial days are also used for time off, in which case you can get them to put in what proportion of the day they're taking off, as a % and then put a formula in the Allocation column that looks at this.

    For example: "=IF(ISBLANK([Partial %]@row), 1, [Partial %]@row)

That would require you to create a new colulmn called "Partial %".

The trick is to use a column formula in the Allocation % column, so that Smartsheet will work out the correct amount to put in there.

    Cheers,

    Lindsay

@Lindsay Whitbread I changed it to a formula, however it is still not showing up in resource management even though I have linked it. Here is another screenshot of my settings. I am stumped here haha!
