Report column groupings showing text under the grouping name

I am attempting to create a report that groups ticket IDs by the report name. The grouping is based on the column named "Report Name Internal (Final)" and the undesired text being displayed is from the primary column.

The grouping name displays text from the primary column below the report name. What's odd is the undesired text being displayed is not within the grouping itself; the text shown is from an entirely different "Report Name Internal (Final)".

Example below shows grouping 'Sales Opportunity" shows text " -BOP Selling Inv $". This is not occurring for the grouping for "Style Sum performance". Again, no item within the 'Sales Opportunity" report group contain the text "BOP Seling Inv $"; it is from a different report.

Is there a way to get this text to go away or is this a visual glitch that cannot be resolved? Thanks!

    Hi @Capp856!

Thank you for sharing the details! Let me provide some clarity around how grouping works in reports.

When you set up grouping by a column, the groups are determined by the unique cell values in that column across all source sheets, not just by the dropdown options or predefined values in the column settings. For example:

    • For Text/Number columns, rows are grouped by each unique cell value (including blank cells).
    • For Dropdown columns, groupings include all dropdown options plus any additional values manually entered into the column on any source sheet.

Based on your description and the screenshot you provided, the undesired text seems to be caused by a value in the “Report Name Internal (Final)” column from one of your source sheets. I’d recommend checking the source sheets to identify and remove any unexpected values in that column.

Additionally, from looking at the image, this might also be a browser or latency issue. Please ensure you follow the steps in this help article to troubleshoot:
Issue: Smartsheet is continuously loading, not responding, or not displaying certain items
