How to shorten a URL

I have the following URL in my sheet. I want to put this in an automated email to the user. However, the link is way to long and the system will not let me change it into a Hyperlink, it says the URL is not valid. Any suggestions:

I don't think the length of the URL is the issue, unless some of the values you are passing are very very long. Do you perhaps have characters within the values that cannot be used in the hyperlink? For example, a space will break the url at the space.

I was able to put the URL above into a cell and it automatically displayed it as a clickable link and allowed me to select a display name. You could try it in a row without any data, then add your data, and see where it fails.

How did you select a 'display name'? That is exactly what I was trying to do and it wasn't letting me do that.

Right click on the url and select “hyperlink” or if you are using a pc, click on the url and press ctrl + k

I get an error message that tells me it is not a valid URL

I think there is something in the fields that you are appending to the url that creates an invalid url. To troubleshoot, you can create a url in a row where none of the parameter columns are populated, then fill in the other columns one at an time until you find the one that causes the problem. Or create a link with just the first part, then gradually add the extra fields until you experience a problem.
