Can status in Resource Management be syncronized with a column in Smartsheet

Since there is no good way of separating allocations and detailed task-descriptions in Smartsheet and I need to use RM to understand the allocations across projects, it is quite annoying for the controbuters that they need to close out the task in both the project plan in Smartsheet as well as in RM. Is there a way to "attach" the status field in RM to a status field on smartsheet in such a way that it can be changed from either tool?

The anwer is no and it is apperently on the roadmap, but not high up.

Hello @Cgrinde not sure if i understand the process did you define another field for the status or are your working with % complete? → What is your reporting workflow doing using the smartsheet or RM information? We have currently also an RM project running maybe we can exchange some LL .

If you look at the Resource Mangement configuration in Smartsheet, there is nothing that couples the state of the task to the state of the task in RM.
Since RM has a state field for tasks, it means that both systems must be kept up to date manually. E.g. the on-track state must be changed manually.
So my questions is if there is a way to syncronize the state of a task between these tools that I have overlooked?
Ideally the RM-settings in Smartsheet should have had another field where the Status-field of RM is syncronized with a column of choice in Smartsheet. -
