Automation Workflows- Enhancing Microsoft Teams Notifications for Smartsheet Assignments

We’ve noticed that after reauthenticating Smartsheet in November 2024, Teams notifications for task assignments no longer include links to the specific Smartsheet or other details in an organized way.

Suggestions for Improvement:

1. Include Links: Add links to the relevant Smartsheet and task directly in the Teams notification.
2. Improve Message Organization: Structure Teams notifications to provide clearer, more organized details.
3. Specific Employee Notifications: Introduce an option to send notifications directly to specific employees via Teams, instead of limiting it to channel notifications in automation workflows.
4. Custom Notification Options: Allow users to choose notification preferences, such as:
   • Teams notifications only.
   • Email notifications only.
   • Both Teams and email notifications.

These enhancements would make Teams notifications more efficient and eliminate the need for relying on email notifications for Smartsheet updates, especially since we use MS Teams for most in-office tasks and communications, reserving email primarily for external purposes.
