How to Update Your Community Profile Email

Around here, our team sees all kinds of questions come in about Smartsheet, but one of the most frequently asked questions we get regarding Community itself is: How do I update my Community profile email?

This could be because:

  • You got a new job or you’ve had a life change
  • You’d like Community notifications to go to a different email
    (remember that Community is tied directly to the Smartsheet account you use)

We’ve set up a process to make things easier on you!

  1. The earlier you follow this process, the better!

    👉🏻 As soon as you think you may need to change your email, fill out the Update Community Profile Email form here using your current account. Try to give as much detail as possible.
  2. Our team will privately message you if they have any clarifying questions.

    What about MERGING 2 profiles? When I was leaving a previous job due to my contract not being renewed, I was advised to transfer my account to my personal email. Made perfect sense. But when I started another job that had Smartsheet, it was suggested to me to create a NEW profile for my new job. I would prefer to have all of my new info transferred to my OLD profile name, and associate that with my new job. I don't understand why I needed to have 2 profiles.

    Community profiles are associated with the Primary Email in your Smartsheet (or Brandfolder) account. There currently isn't a way to login using two emails to go to one profile.

    If there's a possibility of switching between jobs a few times, it's best to use a personal email or one that will stay consistent as your primary profile! That way you can keep this regardless of other email or account changes in the future.

    Having a separate profile that's associated with a specific company enables you to represent that company within the forum if needed, such as with your signatures, job postings, etc.
