Anyone currently on the New Subscription Model?

Let me start by saying I have literally read every single Smartsheet article and communication post. I truly understand the plan, but still have questions. I would love to know if any Community members or their organization has transitioned over to the new User Subscription Model (USM) and if you are willing to share your experience during the integration.
I would love to hear what changes you implemented, best practices, automations, etc. that could help sell the continued use of Smartsheet vs looking at competitors. The biggest selling point for the majority of my users is the fact Smartsheet DIDN'T require a license for users who only touch Smartsheet occasional (quarterly/monthly) to make updates. I haven't been able to find a strong argument for users to transition to a Member after the provision period when Smartsheet is just like every other work management platform. At least with some applications, they have a tiered structure where commenters/editors pay a significantly lower cost than creator/designers or paying based on function availability.
Some questions I have are:
- Was the cost variance significant between what you paid for a legacy license vs the cost of a Member
- Is that new cost what you pay per Member per quarter?
- Since a Member status is reconciled quarterly, is the cost paid per quarter?
- How did you communicate this change with your users? What was your argument to keep the application to those who wanted to go with a competitor?
- What operational changes did you implement to lower the impact on the number of paid Members, but continue to perform duties on the legacy model? (i.e. workarounds to prevent users from becoming a Member, etc.)
- If you are a system admin or part of the true-up process, were there any automations you could implement to help with the manual impact to admins manual responsibilities each quarter?
- Any additional helpful suggestions/recommendations you can share?
I am happy to discuss these offline and not on this open forum if you'd like. Thank you for your time.

Commenting to follow this post - I am also curious on the cost differential, since we have many users within our org who do not need licenses.
