Why would line breaks NOT present in the Report View be present in the Dashboard Widget view?

I have a field I am pulling from Salesforce into Smartsheet that has often has a lot of line breaks in it. I used a CHAR formula to remove the line breaks, and it shows correctly without the line breaks in both the Sheet and the Report. However, as soon as I pull the report into a Dashboard widget, line breaks appear…but only for SOME of my rows (highlighted Yellow in the screenshots). The rest of them display correctly with the line breaks removed.

I've tried looking at the fields in Salesforce and in the sheet, and can't figure out what's different for the ones that refuse to remove line breaks in the Dashboard view. Any character in them can also be found in the ones that have line breaks removed in the Dashboard just fine.

Why in the world would displaying a report in a dashboard widget change how the text displays? Why isn't it exactly the way it shows in the report, just because I pulled it into a Dashboard? How do I fix this?? Pulling my hair out over here.

It's =SUBSTITUTE(Notes@row, CHAR(10), " ")

I finally got it to work properly by bringing the information in a different way (Salesforce>Google Sheet>DataShuttle>Smartsheet) and now it displays properly in the Dashboard view. Not sure why it was different when I used the Salesforce Connector to bring the info in directly, but this workaround got the job done for now.
