Is there a way to log the email of a person submitting a form without requiring them to Login?
I have a Risk & Issues tracker on a Smartsheet grid; For people to submit a new Item we have them submit a form, but some folk with edit access are able to bypass the form (And it's required fields) by manually adding new cells to the sheet.
We were able to track these using the Created By column, if the email was web-form@smartsheet.com then we knew it was added by the form, if it wasn't we followed up with whoever bypassed the form.
We want to know who filled out the form, and seen that to do that we have to Require Smartsheet Login, which would prevent us from knowing if a user submitted an item manually of via the form (Since the Created By column will stop tracking the web-form@smartsheet.com email.).
Is there a different way to track who submitted the smartsheet form and their email without requiring login via Smartsheet?

Automatically, no.
Requiring someone to manually type in their email in a "Submitter" form value (Contact Column) and then NOT requiring Smartsheet login would leave a contact and "web-form@smartsheet.com" email if you're looking to maintain that.Emily Carlson

If you require login so that you can capture who submitted the form, you can include a hidden column which in turn can be made a hidden field in the form with a default value indicating that it is a form submission. As long as you keep that column and field hidden, you should be able to use that for form vs in sheet submissions.

Hi,
I hope you're well and safe!
Unfortunately, there isn't another way that I'm aware of to register automatically who the submitter is if that setting isn't on.
You could add a hidden information field indicating it is being sent as a form and not input directly.Make sense?
Would that help/work?
I hope that helps!
Be safe, and have a fantastic day!

Hi @Odin_Lopez,
The point you mentioned at the start of your question sounded like you were having issues with people bypassing the form, which was causing data to be missed. The way I'd solve a problem like that would be different to the approach you were asking about. Have you thought about instead having an automation which checked that the "sheet submitted" row additions have all required fields, and if they don't then send an update request to the creator so that they can complete the submission?
Cheers,
