Group management could be made a whole lot easier.

Options

I have already submitted these to the product feedback form.

Group management could be made a whole lot easier.

  1. A group admin should be able to maintain a group by listing people in a sheet made for that purpose.
  2. Should also be able to export a CSV file of group members (for auditing purposes).
  3. Group members should be listed in alphabetic order in a group.
  4. Group membership should also be an option for contact drop down lists - either single or multi-select. i.e. I have a contact drop down, and I want to specify that it be populated from the members of a particular group.

Large groups are very difficult to manage. Members aren't even listed in alphabetic order, so visually scanning a group to audit it is very time consuming.

Thank you for submitting this idea! Definitely agree with needing a .CSV export for auditing and having alphabetical order. As a system admin, auditing users that change departments or leave the company is daunting and I expect to have increased workload to maintain our users with the new pricing structure!

Agree. One of biggest complaints are the group member aren't listed alphabetically. Sometimes we get multiple requests to add a new member that may already be a member.

Hello, I wanted to reiterate the importance of enhanced group management. For part 1 that @Bruce Northcote had listed, it would be incredibly beneficial if we could have a sheet that feeds into a group. I have a group at my organization (although under a different Smartsheet account) that reached out to me. The person who is the group owner is very busy, and would like to have a delegate or two that can add folks to the group. The System Admin for that account is someone in IT who folks cannot easily reach out to, so I would really like if we can use the sheet idea in conjunction with having multiple group owners/admin.

It would be very helpful to be able to share groups. It is hard to believe that only the individual that creates the group is the one that can manage updates. This makes it very difficult to use group management and the tendency is to just add users to a workspace rather than the group.
