Last week I encountered an issue that caused several of my columns to get misaligned & information was no longer in the correct column. I did not realize that this had happened until the sheet had already saved.
After chatting with multiple CS reps, I then realized there is not an easy way to restore the sheet to a previous version. Smartsheet offers the "snapshot" which allows you to get the excel data for your inputs however the form itself has to be manually corrected or a new sheet formed.
It would have been helpful if I could "restore" a historical version of the sheet rather than rebuilding the sheet from scratch to make sure the data is aligned. This cost me quite a bit of time & effort to fix. Additionally, if you have built multiple formulas, input forms & data tied to the sheet, it is very time-consuming to add all these nuances back.
I was told that they don't offer this because of new data being received by the sheet & the potential loss of this new data however, I would have much rather manually entered the 2-3 requests I needed to, than rebuild the form.
I ended up creating a new sheet and going through the process to rebuild it only to realize it might make more sense just to delete previous data from my original form & just reference excel for previous data.
