Feature Request: Really Lock Columns
I understand that an admin can lock and unlock columns to prevent non-admins from changing the data, but us Admins are humans too and it's way to easy to change a locked column just because I'm an admin when one is in the heat of battle of updating sheets.
I'd love to be able to have, at minimum, a box that pops up asking if I want to unlock the column if it's locked, rather than just let me pile in a destroy whatever was there previously.

Thanks for the suggestion! I'll forward this request to our product team for consideration in future development

My work around is to lock the column and then change the colour of the cells for that coloumn so it's an indicator to me - ie. Lock then make all cells purple (an uncommonly used color)

Yup - 2nd the motion, when a lock is on-really lock it down. Obvioulsy only an admin or sheet owner can remove the lock.

+1 to this idea. I too forget what is locked and what is not as I own all the sheets.
A warning could be useful.
