Report Sheet Scope Limit

I am receiving a notice that our reports have 302 sheets in scope and that it is recommended that the scope be reduced to 250 for better performance. Does anyone have insight into what performance issues having too many sheets create, and any workarounds? Is there the ability to improve whatever is causing that limit? We are using Smartsheet to track our company projects, and the reporting function is critical to that process.

  • I remember being told this when we took Smartsheet on, does your report have to look at the 302 sheets you mentioned or or could you be more specific when selecting the sheets the report pulls from?

    Hi baddams,

Realistically, if you have 300+ sheets in scope, you're running a substantial portfolio and really should look towards using Smartsheet Control Center. This is an enterprise grade project and portfolio management solution that will allow you to configure a project intake process, deploy standardised project templates and automatically roll up provisioned projects into summary reports (with only the necessary info included).

    Kind regards,
