Refresh icon/prompt now showing after a user saves new data

We have a Smartsheet that is worked on by several users at the same time. Sometimes two of them will enter a new line at the same time and only the data entered by the user who saved last will be visible. 

The easiest solution is to create a new line, immediately save, so the other party is forced to refresh his screen.

However the refresh prompt (blue icon) sometimes doesn't show up at all. We know this, because they will often try to coordinate by using chat.

Is this a known bug/issue and if so, is there any way to solve this on our end or do we need to wait for the software to be updated?

I've noticed this too. The refresh behaviour seems to be sporadic and random. I will often have linked cells that when updated force a refresh, but other times changes are ignored.

We are seeing this today.  Sometimes the refresh symbol will appear right away when someone else changes something and sometime it does not show at all.

Also sometimes we get the refresh symbol, sometimes the refresh notification, and sometimes the line item will turn blue and it updates automatically.

Very inconsistent and frustrating.
