Automatically copying a row to another sheet depending on if a certain cell matches the sheet.

I was wondering if there was any way of automatically moving rows of information depending on information found in a specific column. For example. I have one sheet that lists tasks that have been done by employees and the job number that they were working on (i.e. 165-07). I also have other sheets that provide the information for that specific job. I would like Smartsheet to recognize the job number in one sheet, and then place the information in the corresponding job numbered sheet. I realize this is quite the task. Perhaps someone might have a better way of achieving this effect.

Thanks

    Hi Jeff

This is something that most companies do when the work has been completed and you need to "Send the completed Rows" to eg an Archive sheet. There is no way to do this Automatically in Smartsheet that we have found yet, but welcome innovation?

The simplest solution is to sort them into a group, then Right Click "send rows" to Archive sheet. Very easy and simple but not automatic.

If you want Automatic you need to use an API link based on a trigger to send those Rows to another sheet. If the volume is high and the benefit worthwhile, it will be worthwhile setting that up. There are several choices for this and happy to review them if you think it worth a little extra cost?

Thanks for the info Richard! Any way you could point me in the right direction for creating an API link?
