Is there a way to enable friendly URLs? The publishing action creates a very long URL e.g., https://smartsheetlabs.com/smartsheetmaps/share/b92dc85ccac65a90fe133a440b6046231f9ab5a011753978b01ecb37af3b041f.
Even if a premium feature, can there be an enhancement that ideally uses a predefined domain, or at least makes it shorter and easier to remember?
They need "Text to Display" on the publishing dialog. One work around is to copy the unfriendly URL. Open MS Word of Open Office. Create the friendly word you want. And then paste in the hyperlink. You can attach the file to the project IF you want to go back and find the friendly links.
Thanks Christian - yes, that is a work-around but limited especially if links are shared in plain-text. Hoping this can be a future Smartsheet enhancements as the system generated URL is a beast!
Hi Joe,
For security reasons, URLs are created in a special format to ensure they are not indexed by search engines (like Google).
You could choose to use a URL shortener to reduce the size of the URL. Some URL shorteners also allow you to use custom words in the URL.

Thanks for the explanation, Travis! Makes sense.
