Formulas lost when moving rows within sheets

I keep an 'active projects' sheet, and move projects to an  'inactive' sheet to keep the clutter down. The formulas do not move with the rows though, which is annoying (sometimes projects come back to the 'active' sheet when new samples come in, and I am now  having to copy and pasting formulas into those cells). Any suggestions on how to avoid this issue?

    Hello MVignali,

I have encountered the same problem.

In stead of moving the 'inactive projects' to another sheet, within the same sheet, I made a parent 'Inactive Projects'.

By selecting the inactive projects and moving them below this Parent, you can keep the clutter down.

To add an extra visual aspect, I used a checkbox-column ('inactive'), when if checked, the conditional formatting results in strike-through text.

To make the projects come back again, you only need to move the rows back where they came from. Formula's like SUM(CHILDREN()) will still work.

So you just keep it all at the end of the list, under a row labelled "Inactive Projects"?
    That could work, thanks.

However, I would still like to move them to a different SS while keeping the formulas. Maybe someone else has an idea of how to make that happen.

Copy / Paste instead of Copy Row to Another Sheet.

And I mean Copy all the cells in the row, not select the row.

I don't have a problem with formulas moving -- unless they are referencing something outside the range of the copy.
