Exporting whole spreadsheet including gantt into excel

Dear Francesca,
Unfortunately this is not possible. The chart is a grapchical display of the data given in the start and end dates, duration, predecessors colunns. However, if you import these data back to Smartsheet (or to MS Project or to other PM software), you will be able to see the Gantt-chart again.
I hope it helps.

Excel does not support Gantt charts. You could build it in Excel (with some work) but it's not something that is natively supported (See: https://www.smartsheet.com/blog/gantt-chart-excel001)
MS Project is Microsoft's project management solution and does support Gantt charts.

Thank you both that is very helpful.

I have a Mac so MS Project is not available. Can you recommend an alternative?

Francesca,
Are you just looking to view a Gantt chart?
Google search the Internet for "Gantt viewer".
Lots free. Lots on-line too.
