Notifications with selected columns?

Is there any way to limit the columnd included in notifications?  I have a sheet with a large number of columns and the e-mail notificatons are not legible due to the number of columns included.

This is an option when sending rows and update requests, it would be nice to have this as an option for notifications.

    Hi James, at this time there is not a way to designate which columns will be included in a notifications. I will add your vote for this enhancement request!

    I'm trying to work through the same issue James is experiencing.  I also have a sheet with a large number of columns creating eligible email notifications.

     

    I think limiting the columns included within notifications would be a great enhancement and allow for more flexibility within a project sheet.  

     

    In addition to the enhancement above, I think including the Notification functionality within Reports as well would also be helpful.  This way the email would provide a link to the Report and only display the columns displayed in Report. Regardless of how many columns the referenced Sheet(s) have.  This may allow for another way to flexibly collaborate with others on several projects.

    The notification formats are currently the least compelling thing abou SS, and they are my #1 user complaint - hands down.  It's always the first thing that my new users ask me if i can change for them.

     

    They are not legible on a mobile device, include hidden information, don't group row data together, and they don't include everything that changed if changes were made to too many rows.

    Reports don't catch changes to comments or attachments, so we have to stick with daily notifcations based upon the sheets themselves in order to get the most comprehensive list of change activity.  We have to hide our calcuations off screen so that the user is not overwhelmend with unnecessary columns, but then we end up with giant notificaitons that are... not great.

     

    SS - your send row function works great, and it allows for us to customize what we send in the email.  Can you please combine the send row option with the notification feature in some way?  (even if just for the sheet owner at first)  Then our users would not be flooded with visual debris to sort through each time they get a daily notification.
