Conditional formatting

I have two columns in my smartsheet that are dates. I would like to set a conditional formatting rule that says 'If column X is after Column Y then apply this format', is this possible?

For example 'If 'Date issued' is later than 'Date Due' apply this format'

Hi Kathryn,

Yes, but you'd have to use a so-called helper column (checkbox for example) and add a formula and then reference that in the conditional formatting rule.

Hi @Andrée Starå,

I have a similar question to Kathryn just perhaps a bit more complicated, so hoping you could elaborate a bit further, i can add a checkbox column however the formula is not going to be the same for the whole column. For instance if the date in a row is 'overdue' by 7 days its marked yellow & if it's overdue by 14 day then it's marked red, is this possible?

Yes, you could add a formula in a standard column instead, have the number show, and then use that in the conditional formatting rules.
